The process of CAS starts when you are deemed eligible by the university for a course, and they are considering you a place if you meet all the requirements as they laid out. CAS is a letter given by the institution when you have fully been approved for a course or degree. This is a must have thing before you can apply for the Tier-4 student visa for UK entry clearance. Each CAS letter includes an individual number indicating that the institution named in it has consented to be the educational funder of the individual’s visa. The CAS statement is detailed, providing the UK Visas and Immigration with an extensive explanation of your candidacy, chosen course, and institution.

The process of CAS– A CAS must be submitted before you may apply for a student visa. Your visa application should also contain your unique CAS number. A UKVI (UK Visa and Immigration) supervisor will be able to digitally retrieve your information if you submit your CAS number on your Student visa application paper. Infect UKVI assigned you a CAS number on your university request and hand over to the university to finally send it over to you once it is happy with the formalities. They will send you a confirmation letter by email. In other words, if you don’t have a CAS, you won’t be able to study in the UK. Know that every UK university is not eligible for offering CAS, therefore, cannot take international students.

The CAS letter confirms that you are offered an unrestricted letter of acceptance to enroll at a particular institution. The CAS may require a certain amount of deposit against your tuition fee. If you are applying for one year full-time, then you will deposit £2,000 – £6000, this can vary if the time is extended. This whole process takes about a week or more as the UKVI and the universities have to process hundreds of CAS every month. Students are required to obtain a CAS ideally at least 4 weeks prior to the commencement of their academic program.

When you receive your CAS email, make sure you cross-check it completely right away to assure there are no errors that might affect your visa application later. There are mainly three categories of students who need the CAS letter. These are- any overseas students who are coming outside from Europe and have never stayed in the UK, students who will be studying for more than six months, students who do not have a visa already.
