UK Study Process for International Students

Moving to a new nation is a major undertaking in and of itself. When the immigration procedure to the UK is involved, someone must conduct an adequate study, possess appropriate expertise, and seek appropriate counsel. For international students, this is a whole new experience, and they are likely to make incorrect conclusions about the procedure if they are unfamiliar with the stages. No matter how many barriers someone confronts, the process takes patience and resolve to keep moving forward.

The whole process is broken down here for the international students, into the following steps and must be followed with great attention to get the most effective results.

  1.   Knowing the Requirements and the Process

Knowing is a quarter done –  The first thing that a student must acquire is knowledge about the whole process.

  • You must have a clear idea of how much time you need to fulfill all the steps of the process.
  • You need to know what are the requirements of your preferred subject that you want to study on.
  • Knowing what level, you will be studying at and if your previous degrees are valid in the UK.
  • Must know the fees and tuition fees you are required to pay in the process of applying.
  • It requires a great deal of dedication and time to acquire adequate knowledge to make an informed decision.

There are some technical aspects too that are highly important for your ultimate success.

We understand students can be highly benefited from student agencies that put the students first. Find an agency with a deeper and clear understanding to carry on you with the next step.

We provide all this information for free, so message us and book a consultation with our experts for a clear understanding of the process.

Finding the Right Course and University

You have to keep three things in mind before choosing your subject.

  • What do you want to study?
  • Do you fulfill the requirements to study that particular subject at a particular university?
  • Do you have the budget or financing to study that subject along with other necessary living costs?

After you’ve mastered the basics, you will need to learn more about the course. About its aims, what you will be learning, how the course is created, who will gain the most from it, and what employment prospects may be available after finishing it. It is important to conduct research on all of these topics in order to select a course and make a decision on your subject. You may conduct this research by checking it up online or by chatting with one of our student counselors to determine the best route for you.

  1.   Applying for the Course

After you choose your course now it is time to apply for the course – in many cases, it is done online.

  • The applicant must visit the universities website and know about the application process, how to apply, and deadlines.
  • Timeline is an important issue, some universities give six months to complete the procedure and apply and some take more time. Starting the process earlier is highly recommended.
  • Must use an active and valid email address, as all the upcoming communications with the university will be done through that email including the offer and CAS letter.
  • Appling to multiple universities is highly recommended as some university seats might be filled up by the time you apply.

When a student comes to us, we support them completely, including the technical aspect, which is critical in many circumstances. We do it quickly, with insider knowledge, and with confidence, so you can obtain the best results in a short period of time. We will also apply to other colleges to assure your acceptance.

  1.   Receiving Offer Letter

After your application is submitted to the university, the university communicates further.

  • The university will let you know if they are entirely satisfied with your application and the documents presented.
  • University may have some queries; it will email you or your representative agent if there are any. These must be attended to promptly and in full. Please note – these queries are not always just yes or no – the reply may require an explanation that should satisfy the admission officer.
  • Then the university can send you the unconditional or conditional offer letter to you through the email address you have applied.
  • You have to stay connected to your email so that you can respond to the university instantly when needed.

We stay connected and advise the students who come to us. We intervene in all the difficulties and prepare the students to face the challenges they are presented with.

  1.   Receiving CAS Letter

The term CAS stands for Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). It is a letter from the school where you have been accepted for a course. The CAS letter has a unique number that you must provide on your Tier 4 student visa application. Receiving an offer letter does not imply that you are ready to apply for a visa. Only once you have received your CAS letter may you apply for a visa.

This has evolved into one of the most important aspects of the application process.

  • CAS letter provides final confirmation from the university and is considered as a Visa requirement now.
  • The unique reference number ensures that the university has granted your application as a student and now you can move further in the visa application process.
  • This stage requires another interview for some students, where they are asked about their plans, intentions, and reason behind choosing the course.
  • After the interview if the university is happy with the student, only then they will issue a CAS letter for you.

Students may feel overwhelmed when confronted with this stage. UNI-council is quite knowledgeable about all processes, particularly this one. This procedure increases a student’s chances of acceptance. We take extreme precautions to avoid any mistakes during the procedure.

  1.   Applying for Scholarships

You can start applying for scholarships after you have received your offer letter. For this, you do not have to wait for the CAS letter as ensuring scholarships’ decisions can take some time.

  • Please note – scholarships do not mean free education – in many cases it is a discount award to your tuition fees. The different university offers various types of scholarships.
  • Scholarships are mostly received based on merits and various categories.
  • Many students receive a common scholarship of £1500 – £2500 in the UK university as a Commonwealth student.

Most of our applicants are unaware of several categories that colleges provide, so they do not apply and, in some cases, do not consider a certain university as an alternative. We enlighten our candidates about all of the scholarships and their conditions so that they are aware of their alternatives from the start. If you apply elsewhere, some of our partner colleges may offer you a larger scholarship with us.

  1.   Managing Funds

A student’s finances must be maintained throughout the procedure. This may not be an issue for some of you, but if you have restrictions in this area, you need to discover other strategies to manage your funds effectively.

  • You must have available funds for your study and maintenance in the UK.
  • You must be able to pay the costs of visa application, health surcharge, and travel cost.
  • You must be aware of the tuition fee and the schedule of the payments if not paying in advance.
  • You need to produce proof of your finance by supplying the bank statement. You also need to meet certain conditions about the fund, its source, and maturity. Please be cautious that not every bank in your country is accepted by UKVI – see the list of approved banks here.
  • You need to have a certain amount for at least 28 days before you can supply for the entry clearance.

If you reach us, we will guide you regarding the bank statements. We will inform you how much money you need to have considering everything you need to include in the calculation, and for how long.

  1.   Visa Application Process

After you’ve gotten your acceptance letter and sorted your finances, it’s time to start working on your visa application. This stage is technical and need to comply with the entry clearance regulations. It is always advisable to entirely be sure about the matter and how you should position yourself. The first challenge is to present the right set of documentation specified at UKVI website:

Documents you’ll need to apply

When you apply for your Student visa you must provide:

  • a passport or travel document (valid at least for 6 months)
  • a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your course provider

You may also need to provide supporting documents:

  • Bank Statement – to proof you have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course – this will vary depending on your circumstances
  • Affidavit Statement – written consent for your application from your financial sponsor if you’ve received sponsorship for your course fees and living costs in the last 12 months
  • Medical Test Certificate of your tuberculosis test results

If you are under 18 then also require:

  • proof of parental or other legal guardian consent if you’re under 18
  • proof of your relationship to your parent or guardian if you’re under 18

You need to prepare the following documents to get your Visa application done:

  • Complete the online application
  • Pay the visa application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge
  • Submit your visa application
  • Attend the Visa interview (if you’re asked)

Most students do not know how to cope with the prerequisites and consequently waste a significant amount of time compiling them. This is where our specialists come in and assist you in organizing all of your paperwork so that you can face the interviews and complete the last stage as quickly as possible. Our expert staff concentrates on advising international students. In these cases, they will give you detailed counsel and equip you to tackle any difficulties with knowledge and confidence.

  1.   Post Departure Preparation

This is the final stage before you relocate to the United Kingdom. We notice that the majority of the kids arrive without any form of preparation and end up in full mayhem. To avoid these, establish a detailed plan of all the tasks that must be completed first so that your life in the UK may begin successfully.

  • After receiving your visa, now you are all set to come here.
  • You must find your accommodation right away so that you do not have to move franticly all over the place.
  • You should also find someone who is going to receive you at the airport and guide you to your completely new residence.
  • The first few weeks will be hectic but planning them with an expert will make things easier.
  • You can also enhance some of your skills before coming here so that you can get a job easily. For example, learn to drive, create a cv with some job experiences that will add more to your character.
  • After coming here, you will have to register your GP, open a bank account, apply your NI, and most importantly, report to the university.

As a result, you now understand that you will have a lot of work to do after you land. If you can get some of your paperwork in order, you will be able to save a significant amount of time and put it to better use. This is only achievable if you are fully informed of the task you will be performing. UNI-council professionals will advise and help you through the entire procedure, including after you are in this new nation.
